Step into the world of Roberta Carreri. Discover her transformative workshop, where the art of physical storytelling is explored through intention, action and emotion.
In this immersive workshop, Roberta Carreri guides participants through the intricate relationship between body, emotion, and intention. Drawing on decades of experience with Odin Teatret, she shares her unique methodology for creating compelling, authentic performances. Through exercises in physicality, presence, and improvisation, participants will explore how to harness their inner impulses and translate them into powerful, intentional actions.
Whether you’re an actor, dancer, or theatre enthusiast, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to deepen your understanding of physical storytelling and elevate your craft under the guidance of a true maestro.
Workshop with Roberta Carreri is divided into two parts. The first part will focus on the actor’s physical training – awakening the actor’s presence. The second part will concentrate on voice work, including exercises that evoke different vocal tones and develop the ability to perform vocal actions in space.
The aim of the workshop is to convey, in a relatively short time, the foundation of a training method that can help young actors discover their stage presence through the exploration of formalized stage behavior, while enabling experienced actors to break free from their own clichés.
The workshop will emphasize awareness of one’s own presence in relation to the space and fellow actors on stage: how to be fully present in the action you are performing while remaining ready to react. It will also focus on finding the body’s axes, working with “in-tensions,” and achieving dynamic immobility. We will explore different qualities of energy in the gaze and learn to identify various points in the body where the impulse to move through space originates.
Participants will work on creating physical and vocal actions and how to execute them with different energy qualities. Finally, the workshop will also address vocal training, including the use of multiple body resonators and the relationship between vocal and physical actions.
